A major part of Sherburn House Charities function is to relieve need, hardship and distress in the north east of England. This is achieved through the giving of grants in separate schemes to individuals, (Relief in Need) and organisations.
Grants are made to organisations whose work involves them with groups of disadvantaged people.
Relief is given to individuals.
