Shaftoe Charities has two 'aims'.
1) Educational Foundation - Promoting the education of persons resident or who have a parent or parents resident in the Parish of Haydon.
2) Almshouse Charity of John Shaftoe
(a) Provision of housing for persons of need resident in Parish of Haydon who are over sixty.
(b) Persons resident elswhere in Northumberland
(c) In exceptional cases outside Northumberland.
