Pegswood Community Project is a charity that offers a place of support, inspiration and encouragement for everyone in Pegswood, young and old. We aim to support quality of life through various groups, events, programmes and activities, including a community cafe, UK On-line computer suite (available for drop in or supported sessions), community garden, informal and accredited programmes and training, employment advice, Basic Skills and Learn Direct to name a few! We provide a creative outlet in which young people can achieve and develop social skills involving family support, parent and baby groups, after school and homework clubs as well as play schemes, trips and activities over the holidays. Our healthy Living work includes a 50 plus keep fit group, healthy eating, walking and exercise sessions, a food co-operative and community health days. Recent events include a Mr and Mrs competition and Royal Wedding Celebration, Highlights Craft Tour and Theatre productions, as well as regular quiz nights, barbecues and more!
Our craft groups do a wonderful job in producing works of art for our exhibitions. These include Pegswood Quilters, Beginners Quilters, Painting group, parchment group and card making. Items are often for sale so please pop in and have a look.
We also provide conference and training facilities in our excellent sized hall, with access to the computer suite. Refreshments and lunch can be provided on order, as well as an interactive whiteboard, projector, laptop, etc at a very competitive rate.
