We teach English as Additional language (EAL) to migrant children and young people in local schools in our region, allowing them to integrate more easily within their new school and the wider community, access all areas of the curriculum much quicker and settle into their new county more easily.
In addition we provide information for parents about local services, support groups and the British education system.
Many of our staff are bi-lingual and we offer a translation service to schools, parents and other organisations involved with the migrant community. We also provide EAL Teacher Training sessions to help school staff support new arrivals more effectively.
Saturday Polish School runs each Saturday during term time providing Polish language tuition, Geography and History lessons to Polish children, enabling them to keep in touch with their own language and culture.We are based at Berwick Academy and hours are: 9:15am - 11:45am
