Active Northumberland is a charitable trust that manages leisure facilities and services throughout Northumberland on behalf of Northumberland County Council.
Active Northumberland manage leisure centres and swimming pools throughout the county, as well as some more specialist sites such as the Beach Huts at Blyth, the Tyne Riverside Country Park building in Prudhoe and the Pegasus Riding Centre near Morpeth. Leisure facilities at several school sites in Blyth, Cramlington and Prudhoe are also managed for community use.
Active Northumberland encourages and offers assistance to local communities in Northumberland to develop and manage their own activities and clubs, and also provides sports coaching and activities in areas where access to services is more difficult.
Active Northumberland works in partnership with Northumberland County Council. It has a board of trustees made up of local representatives from across the county who are committed to ensuring that communities in Northumberland are given every opportunity to access facilities, activities and services that contribute towards healthy and active lifestyles.
