We are a non-profit making group of amateur/hobby artists of mixed ages and abilities and welcome anyone from complete beginners to experienced artists, space allowing. At the moment we are fully subscribed (as of March 2011) with 22 members, but have a waiting list to which we would be happy to add your name to if you are interested in joining us. Anyone is welcome to come to give us a "try before you buy" for one morning free of charge, unless we are running a workshop.
Contact our Chairperson, Dorothy Croydon, email: dacroydon777@btinternet.com telephone: 0191 2371651 if you wish to be added to the waiting list, or to come along to give us a try.
We meet every Wednesday morning from 10.00am to 12 noon in Seaton Sluice Community Centre. However, if we are running a workshop with one of our regular tutors/professional artists then these usually run from 10.00am to 2.00pm.
The club is open all year round except for two weeks holiday at Easter, a six week break in Summer, and two weeks holiday at Christmas each year.
We hold an annual Art Exhibition which gives members a chance to exhibit and sell their paintings, a small percentage of takings goes to Art Club funds. We also exhibit from time to time at the Bottleworks Project exhibitions at St Paul's Church, Seaton Sluice.
