Welcome to Alnwick Bowling Club, formed in 1877 and the second oldest lawn green bowling club in Northumberland. The green is in Dispensary Street, on the left side as you come up from Morrisons and Wilko towards Pottergate Tower.
We are keen to recruit new members. Bowls is a game for young and old and all those in between. It is a game that can be learned quickly and our members will give you any advice you need. It is relatively inexpensive compared to other sports. Prospective members are offered a one month free trial before joining and a years membership is a maximum of £50.
Newcomers tend to begin in the Monday evening Jumbles and the Friday afternoon Triples. You will find details of these in the Club Competitions section of the Website.
The bowls season runs from mid -April to mid-September each year. If you just want to watch our matches entrance is free. These are advertised on the bowling green gate. We have teams in the Northumberland and North Northumberland leagues. We also play over 20 friendly matches each year as well as internal club competitions.
