
The Hearth is situated in the heart of the quiet village of Horsley.
The former church manse dating from 1600 now houses an exciting cluster of artists' studios and a coffee shop.
Visitors can savour delicious homemade cakes and light lunches whilst appreciating the work of the resident artists displayed around the site.
Artists include Melanie Hopwood - ceramicist, Lorraine Clay - pottery and ceramics, David Holliday- watercolourist, Mike Jarvis - painter , Jonathan Beattie - mixed media, Tom Johnson- maker of stringed instruments and Rebecca Vincent and Carol Nunan - printmakers. Regular art courses are held by individual artists through the Centre for Lifelong Learning, Newcastle upon Tyne.
Each Monday morning the hall is filled with music when Louise and Charlie hold their Singing Babies group for mothers and babies.Those who have outgrown Singing Babies can now jion the Monday afternoon seesion of Squeaky Feet.
Wednesday at 9.30am is again time for Squeaky Feet - rhythm,dance and song for toddlers.
Thursday 's Arty Afternoons give preschool children the opportunity to be creative and messy!
Monthly Seven O'Clock Soirees bring music in different forms to the Hearth complimented with delectable homemade suppers prepared by the coffee shop.
