LET EVERYONE HEED WHAT HE HEARS

Would a ghost eat a portion of grilled fish? Certainly not.

Today, St. Luke mentions this homely but vital detail, that Jesus wanted to prove He was not a ghost by offering to eat a portion of the meal leftovers, a piece of grilled fish. Today, the Church is emphasising the truth that Jesus rose with the same body that died on Calvary. (He made Thomas put his fingers in the holes in his hands). It is the same body but now glorified, so He passed through closed doors when He visited the disciples. Let us also remember that He rolled back the stone in front of the tomb even though He need not have done so. He did it to emphasise the empty tomb. We must talk about these facts like St. Peter, in the first reading, to an amazed crowd. The papers tell us that many English people reduce Easter to an Easter egg. let us evangelise our children, family and friends. Tell them the TRUTH.
