
General
The walk to Thrum Mill and back is 13/4 miles (3km), 45 mins, and follows the River Coquet on a level path.
The longer walk is 5 miles (8km), allow 3 hours for a leisurely pace. Some paths may be wet or muddy in places, and there is a moderately steep climb out of Rothbury which is rewarded with panoramic views. Three stiles are crossed on the walk.

Rothbury can be reached by bus from Newcastle and Morpeth. Details from traveline 0870 6082608.
Car parking
Cars can be parked in Cowhaugh car park (NU 057015) just west of the B6342 to Cambo.
