• Thursday, September 25, 2008 - Telling tales out of school: A talk on the history of education and school life in North Tynedale & Redesdale from 1870 to 1944 by Dr Ian Roberts, based on his new book. Suitable for A Level students and adults.

• Thursday, October 02, 2008 - Hexham Tans: Part of the Hexham Abbey Festival - the 130th anniversary of Wilfrid Gibson's birth in Hexham on 2nd October 1878, Keith Armstrong presents readings from Gibson's poetry with members of Hexham and Tynedale Writers' groups and Ann Sessions on the Northumbrian pipes. Tickets from the Queen's Hall Box Office £8 (£6 concs)
