Lapwing Crafts offer a range of creative and fun workshops in a range of traditional and contemporary crafts including: hooky & proggy mat making; willow weaving; basketry; candle making; round and flat-form felt making.

We work with a range of organisations such as: community groups; schools; private organisations and demonstrate our crafts at regional craft fairs and shows.

We are currently working towards developing a range of workshops aimed at the health sector for those wishing to develop their Stress Management skills. If you work in the health sector and would like us to work with you on such a project, please contact us.

• Saturday, October 04, 2008 - Sculptural Felt Making: A fabulous day with Cheryl Jackson learning how to make a stunning bag, bowl, vase or other 3d vessel using sculptural techniques with wool. There will be an additional charge for materials. The cost of the day includes home-made lunch, cakes & biscuits, tea and coffee.

• Sunday, October 05, 2008 - Rocks and Landscapes in Fabrics and Fibres: Join Caroline Mann, Cheryl Jackson and Elizabeth Pickett (Geodiversity Officer, North Pennines AONB Partnership) for a creative day interpreting the North Pennine landscape with felt, silk paper-making and the traditional craft of hooky & proggy. Be inspired by the stunning landscapes, rocks, fossils and minerals of the West Allen Valley! In addition to material which will be provided please bring needles, sharp scissors and an old towel (for felt-making). If you have any fabrics you would like to use for hooky & proggy, please bring them with you. Tea and coffee will be provided, but please bring your own packed lunch. Costs £15 per person (payable on booking) £7 per person for materials (payable on the day)
