Jubilee Institute

The Jubilee Institute in Rothbury has been at the heart of village life since 1897. It is situated at the centre of the village, at the corner of Bridge Street and Townfoot, a stone's throw from the River Coquet. The Institute provides the community of Upper Coquetdale with an attractive location for a wide variety of meetings, activities and social functions. Extensive development and re-furbishment of the Institute has taken place over the last three years to bring it up to a high standard suitable for today's environment.

The Jubilee Institute contains rooms and halls of varying sizes, ranging from small meeting rooms to a large hall with a stage and seating for over 240 people. There is a kitchen and a computer room. There are modern digital audio/visual facilities for projecting films and for computer-aided projection to accompany presentations.

Amongst the regular users of the Institute are an amateur dramatic group, Scouts & Cubs, a daycare centre, an adult training outreach facility, a youth drop-in centre, and Over-60s club, adult education courses, a community cinema (for more information, please see www.rothburycinema.com) and the traditional Rothbury music festival.
