Promoting the coaching of bowls throughout Northumberland, for men,women and children of all ages and abilities and to encourage the growth of the sport.Responsible for setting the standards for the coaching of bowls, training, assessment, the certification of coaches, and registration with the English Bowls Coaching Scheme.

• Thursday, January 01, 2009 - Foundation and Club Coach Course: Suitable for experienced bowlers male or female with a letter from their club Hon.Secretary to support their application. 8 x two hour sessions plus a practicle and verbal examination making 9 weeks in total.The Eamination on the Green and verbal question papers being on the 08/03/2008 The succesful candidates will then qualify for Foundation Coach status. Then after assisting either at a Bowls for Begginers Course 4 week course or assisting at the Parks School of Excellence for 4/6 weeks will be examined on their coaching standard before qualifying to Club Coach status. You will need to purchase the new Combined Level 1/2 Coaching Manual viz.£5.50 Plus Purposeful Practice Handbook £1. in addition you will have to pay for the hire of the rink. which will be £3 per person per session.

• Tuesday, March 03, 2009 - Upgrade from Level 2 to Level 3 Senior Coach: Any Level 2 Club Coach who wishes to up grade to level 3 (Green Certificate) will they please contact the Hon.Secretary in order that we can arrange another course. The EBCS have decided that we can no longer train and examine our coaches to Level 3 Senior Coach. This mean we will have to make arrangement for Brian Warren the Northern Area Coach to carry out the training. aLL Level 3 Upgrades must be examined by a Level 4 Coach out of County
