CHILDREN’S WATERSPORTS ACTIVITIES 2008

Watersports Activity Camps, working in partnership with Coquet Shorebase Trust

Northumberland County Council have been working in partnership with Coquet Shorebase Trust through Druridge Bay Country Parks for several year. They have provided an extensive range of watersport based activities utilising Ladyburn Lake within the country park, which provides a safe and quiet setting for training of your chosen sport.

Coquet Shorebase are based in the local town of Amble, situated just 4 miles north of Druridge Bay County Park.

During the Easter and Summer school holidays we will be offering these two day courses. They include taster sessions in the four activities of Sailing, Windsurfing, Kayaking and Canoeing

POWERBOAT COURSES 2008

 

Powerboat courses are run from our base in Amble and are therefore qualifications achieved will be coastal endorsed.

 

RYA Level 2

 

This is the level of award generally recognised as the accepted level for competently handling a powerboat. This is also the level required as a prerequisite for some coaching awards. (e.g. sailing, windsurfing)

RYA Safety Boat

 

This is the recommended qualification for those people using power boats to escort racing fleets of dinghies, windsurfers and canoes, providing safety  and rescue cover for training fleets, and assisting in race management
