Thank you for looking at our page. The Friends of Bolam Lake was formed four years ago to work with the Countryside Officer at the lake to increase the number of visitors and to carry out voluntary tasks in the Park. We have meetings every two or three months to discuss ways of helping and anyone is welcome at these meetings. Details of our meetings and other activites are posted on this website. At present we have about 20 members. A newsletter is produced twice a year which can be collected at the cafe or viewed on the website.
The Friends are there to promote, preserve and protect Bolam Lake Country Park. We also concern ourselves with other ' green' issues. We would love to hear from you. You can join the mailing list by handing your address, either postal or E mail to the Bolam Office. The more people who become involved, the louder our voice. We are now recognised as an interested Community Group to be consulted and kept informed of related matters.
As I review this page in 2009 there are apparently no proposals to further reduce staffing in the council run Country Parks. Thank you for visiting, do call in again.
Chairman of Friends of Bolam Lake.
