Blyth & Seaton Sluice beach and dunes are a designated local nature park with 5 km of golden sandy beach and parking nearby.

Seaton Sluice has a small harbour and rocky bays. To the south Blyth has the Blyth Battery Museum which hosts events and activities - and there are nearby play areas.

• 20 July 2013 - Seaton Sluice Harbour Day: Family fun day in aid of the local RNLI crews, come along and enjoy the "Its a Knockout" competition between the local RNLI stations, visit the show field with the kiddies, and look around the stalls. live music and BBQ later in the day to finnish off a full day of fun for the whole family.

• 24 July 2013 - Rockpool Safari of Hartley bay: Come and meet the fascinating creatures who live between the tide lines, some nets and containers will be provided. Cost £3.00 per family.

• 29 July 2013 - Sandcastle competition, Blyth beach.: Register from 11.30 onwards, judging between 12.30 and 1pm. Categories: under 4's, under 8's, under 12's and adults.
