The members expressed their thanks to Dennis for offering to run courses at Queen Elizabeth School, which meant that the club could access shooting facilities there.
5. Supporting tasks
It was noted that Dennis would offer training in the role of Field Captain to any members who were interested.
It was agreed that awards schemes should be put in place-using the FITA Feathers scheme for youth archers and the Bowman, Master Bowman system for Seniors. Geoff offered to take this forward.
The club currently has only one qualified Youth Leader or Coach. It was recognised that there was a need for more (although it is within the Insurance for the club to meet without a qualified leader, provided 2 senior archers are present,GNAS rules of shooting are observed, juniors are accompanied, and no coaching of archers takes place). Adrian and Geoff indicated their willingness to undertake training.
6. Update on Sports Pavilion
The Secretary reported that the Sports Club were awaiting the outcome of their final bid to put together the necessary funding package, on June 24th. If successful tenders/bids would be complete by the end of September. It was hoped the pavilion would be completed for 2009 summer season. As well as toilets, kitchen and changing area, there would be a store which Allen-A-Dale archers would be able to use for large equipment. The positioning at the South end of the main football pitch would mean that if shooting on that pitch, the pavilion would be in the line of fire, and therefore it would have to be out of bounds during shooting. It was agreed that Dennis would contact Dave Robson re marking of the field.
The annual rent to Lord Allendale is £1000. The Archery club would have to pay £250 per annum towards this.
7. Fees 2008-09
It was noted that GNAS was now renamed Archery GB. Its annual subscriptions, due in September had risen to £33.00 for Seniors and £20 for Juniors. It was agreed that, in view of the need to contribute to the Sports Club, the OVERALL Allen A Dale Archers fees would be : £60 for seniors (£33 Archery GB, £10 Sports Club, £3.50 DNAA, £1.50 Northern Counties leaving £12 for Allen A Dale Archers) and £35 for Juniors ( £20 Archery GB, £7 Sports Club,£1.75 DNAA and 75p Northern Counties, leaving £5.50 for Allen A Dale Archers)
Members asked about Archery GB Insurance. The Secretary agreed to copy the Policy for individual members.
Fund raising would take place through July 6th Haltwhistle Carnival, 23 August Allendale Leek Show and August 30th Weardale Show. Members were asked for support for these events.
8. Annual Report.
This was circulated and accepted. It was agreed that the club would encourage additional members with disabilities and try to encourage more female members.
9. End of Year Accounts
The club accounts were tabled and explained. The club currently has £306.05 of uncommitted funding as its balance. The accounts were accepted.
10. Club rules
Copies of the original rules were considered. It was agreed that Paragraph 5 be amended to show that the club dress of forest green polo-shirt or sweat-shirt, with white, cream, khaki or green trousers, should be worn for competitions or formal occasions, or when representing the club. However it was agreed that for weekly shoots within the club, club dress need not be worn.
Paragraph 9 was also discussed. It was agreed to leave it in unchanged, but to enforce it only if the club became short of bosses.
